#1 – They Keep Survival Equipment Dry
Mylar bags are not just for food storage (though there’s the best thing on the market for it!). For camping and hiking, you should use the protective durability of mylar bags to keep other essential items safe. For example, many important survival items should be kept dry and out of direct sunlight.
Consider sealing things like matches, lighters, and little knives in the smallest mylar bags. Quart-sized bags may be better for cellphones, GPS equipment, batteries, or emergency rations. Finally, gallon mylar bags make safe storage for first-aid kids, toilet paper, sunscreen, insect repellant, and wrapped cutlery.
