Why It’s Water-based…
Not Waterproof
Boom Bright is a water-based mascara—as opposed to an oil-based mascara.
As a water-based mascara, Boom Bright is quick drying, easy to apply, easy to remove and won’t cause your lashes to stick or clump together as oil-based mascaras can do.
It also means Boom Bright is NOT waterproof… and that’s a good thing. We have found that waterproof mascaras tend to have harsher ingredients that dry out your lashes—especially in your 50s and beyond. Removing a waterproof mascara also requires extra effort (and a makeup remover) that can cost you lashes each time you remove it.
As it is, you can remove Boom Bright with a dab of Boomsilk, Boom Clean… or even just plain water.
(Important Note: Even though Boom Bright is water-based, it’s formulated to last all day. You don’t have to worry about it coming off until you’re ready to remove it. As with any mascara, avoid heavy applications of any oils or moisturizers to the upper and lower eyelids and lashes.)
